New York - December 2001 Manhattan |
Right, looking north toward mid-Manhattan, Central Park, and Times Square.
Left, looking almost due south, toward where the twin towers once stood. You can just pick out the Statue of Liberty in the bay.
|
Sadly, the Empire State Building is now the tallest in New York. This is the one tourist site, other than the Statue of Liberty, that is a must see. I have to say we enjoyed the panoramic view from the observation deck on the 86th floor.
At right, the Chrysler Building, looking northeast from the tower. |
Left, looking west toward New Jersey across the river. Just below, you can see Madison Square Garden with a semi-circle peaking from behind a building. Behind Madison Square Garden, you can see Penn Station. |
